777 Seating
A Colleague of mine just travelled on an EK flight and he told me their seating on the 777 is absolutely RUBBISH.
In Y Class they pack it as 3/4/3!!
Is this true?? I thought 3/3/3 is pretty tight already on a 777??
He was in J and told me it is really bad as well (2/3/2)

TRUE!
If travelling economy on EK 777, I always try to get a window/aisle seat in one of the last 3 rows, because there the configuration is 2-4-2.
In J I think not the 2-3-2 configuration is a problem, but the small seat pitch.
Otherwise I find the seats quiet comfortable, by no means the latest standard, what you could expect from an airline which is developing into a global player.

Awful seating
Was unlucky to get seats on row 50 (a flight attendant joked that she didn't know they could exist on this aircraft!) between Brisbane and Dubai.
Those seats are just a disgrace: non only narrow, due to the 3-4-3 layout of the cabin, but you can hardly recline, are seated just by the toilet door (after 15 or so hours I felt I was seating IN the toilet), and endelessly reminded that the flights attendant are busy preparing the food just inches away. Can't think how Emirates can gets rewards for their economy product: on a night flight the food is nothing but average. A complete nightmare.

I have a collegue wanting to fly BNE_DXB via singapore in F
can someone tell me if they have absolutely flat beds yet.
he called EK in mel and they said it was a "sleeper " seat and then they qualified that it was a 157 degrees .

On the BNE-DXB (777-300) leg I did find the cabin somewhat claustrophobic - I think the seat in itself is not appreciably narrower than some of the competition but the aisles do seem very, very narrow. For DXB-GLA on the 777-300ER I got a bulkhead exit row seat (row 23) and found this a lot better. I wouldn't be too concerned about the 3-4-3 config because as I said I think most of the space for the extra seat has been reclaimed from the aisles.
I know Emirates are supposed to have greater legroom than most but I really didnt get that impression on the 777

IIRC it doesn't switch the new 777-300ER (flat bed) till Feb 08.
I would avoid if possible and take EY to AUH instead.
Cheers,
