I also recently flew BNE-DXB and onwards DXB-GLA and would have to disagree - I found the food to be outstanding (for airline food) on all legs.

On the BNE-DXB (777-300) leg I did find the cabin somewhat claustrophobic - I think the seat in itself is not appreciably narrower than some of the competition but the aisles do seem very, very narrow. For DXB-GLA on the 777-300ER I got a bulkhead exit row seat (row 23) and found this a lot better. I wouldn't be too concerned about the 3-4-3 config because as I said I think most of the space for the extra seat has been reclaimed from the aisles.

I know Emirates are supposed to have greater legroom than most but I really didnt get that impression on the 777
