I am trying not to judge allergy severity or diminish others' experiences but having used EpiPens 2x on planes in my life (and hopefully no more), who in their right mind takes a photo of someone about to inject themselves instead of helping ?? I would have been done by the time someone could even whip out their phone, urgency normally makes it a quick process ...

Separate to that, I feel allergies are treated very differently depending on the crew and who you tell on board EK -- if you inform a cabin crew of Western origin, they tend to take it much more seriously than ones of other origins; perhaps a cultural difference? In cases where I decide to clarify with crew (esp. on routes where my allergens appear frequently) and indicate to them where I've kept my pen, they always take it much more seriously.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt
But just reading the comments, apparently, this happened to him last year with QR, and people who have allergies also commented that he didn't seem to show the obvious "signs" of shock due to allergies...some are saying he's doing it to get money or attention, hmmm ok

glad he's fine

"I’m posting because people should be aware of the severity of how bad food allergies can be and the complete negligence from @emirates airline," he wrote.

"He alleged that he was again reassured there were no nuts in the food. It was only when his friend saw the menu that they realised the curry contained cashews."

So, he didn't actually check the menu?

It's quite common for curries to have nuts. Weird that the crew didn't seem aware of the possibility when the name is cashew curry.
