Hi all

I have the Bose quiet comfort ear buds and wondered if i can use this in the plane, if they had Bluetooth functionality or would i rather source wired headphones?

The very latest IFE hardware allows bluetooth pairing with your own devices

And this is available on EK flights? Any pointers on which classes and which planes?

Well, that then certainly excludes the A6-EBx and ECx fleet which (dis)graces the routes to CPT and other destinations in Africa....

It's basically only on the IFE screens (so, not the frames with the Y screens which are flat silver, but ones with a notch on the bottom and definitely not the one with the black screens or the even older grey ones) you can see in the EK website promotional material, so I imagine only the frames with PE (that kind of delivery time onward).

That said, I think I recall seeing an option on the silver screen IFE equipment earlier this year but didn't see it recently, so maybe it is something that the hardware can do, but they've turned it off...

well. this is not available for every aircraft, 1000% sure if those with PE and new F , new J but old F type 773 will have it. for 772 and oldest 773 with smaller IFE screen it wont have it. when you onboard. just found the setting for audio, if it have Bluetooth it will allow you pair, but some time likely to be enable after takeoff in some 773.

My partner recently bought a device which plugs into the headphone jack on the IFE system and can "pair" with your wireless headphones. It is called "AirFly" and he said it works well.

It is available online, but on a recent flight I noticed that Emirates actually sells the same ones onboard.
