Ok. I was given no choice. As I approached payment online, I was only offered flex plus.

Maybe only flex plus is offered several months before the flight (my daughter departs mid-July). Maybe only flex plus is offered during peak times. Perhaps the miles calculator is yet to be updated.

This may be a sign of things to come as Emirates re-assesses the conditions for J reward flights as they have already done for F reward flights. We will have to wait and see.

Hi everyone,

Just had an e-mail from Emirates this morning re Miles sale with up to 45% off

Checking the forum recently and seeing miles devaluation mentioned here....I checked yesterday and saw around 81000 miles for upgrading Man-Singapore or Man-Hong Kong (one way Business to First upgrade), however, today the Emirates website (and app) show original miles upgrade cost of 68250 miles, as they have been for ages.

Anyone else noticed this?? Trying to plan how many miles to buy but can't work out if the new rate is going to stay at 81000 or whether they are updating the page? Seems odd it was originally one value, then a higher one yesterday, yet back to original today...

Any thoughts?

The mileage calculator has been updated...

No change to upgrades (at least on UK-DXB, not sure about others). J Savers unchanged, J Flex increased as mentioned upthread.

Sadly, it could never go back to the situation as 10years ago when it was easy for leisure travelers to earn enough miles for one upgrade.
Currently, actually all leisure travelers are exclude from it (e.g. two intercontinental travels per year on saver fare would be never enough) The only use for miles is cash+miles.
But, well, this is program for frequent travelers not for loyal members who travel not more then twice per year but only on Emirates...

Anyway I would like option to convert Skywards miles to hotel loyalty program. Unfortunately it is possible only vice versa..
