F Class Availability

Hello All,
First time posting at EK forum, so please bear with me

My company is preparing to lift the internal travel ban for its employee in the near future with some changes in the travel policy. This will put me to do some research, including changing the airlines.
Previously, I always fly with Star Alliance (SQ/TG mostly, OZ sometimes) from CGK to FRA or ZRH, almost once every 6 weeks.

I was on the middle of making dummy reservation CGK-DXB-FRA//FRA-DXB-CGK on EK website for my next trip in May, when I found that F class is not available for CGK-DXB leg, but are available for the rest of the trip, including DXB-CGK.
.
  1. Does it mean that EK do not offer F from CGK, even though the airframe have F configuration in it?
  2. If you were me, would you book J outbound and F inbound separately? Or book F return, knowing that you will seat in J (most probably old J, as from FR24, airframe with new J never fly to CGK in the last 30 days)
Many thanks for any comment/advice!

It looks like Jakarta is currently served by a mix of 2 Class and 3 Class aircraft - it's not likely that there is an F cabin that's not for sale in one direction only. This should change later in the year as things continue to get back to normal, but for now just choose the dates that F is offered.

I would say it very much depends on who is paying the bill. If it isnt you, take advantage of the extra points and the F lounge access in DXB.

Noted, thank you!
Let me see of there is such a "pattern" of the aircraft change 😊

Thank you! I am with you, indeed DXB F Lounge is one of the factor I would like to experience.
In my case, company pays, but there is a capped annual budget I have to manage 😊
