Finally received confirmation email from Emirates, 60 days after request for refund:

Just so happened that I had, one day earlier, sent letter to bank asking for chargeback. Will see when
refund finally hits my M/C account.

Confirmed that refund from Emirates has been received in my original
form of payment, exactly 60 days from time of my refund request. So
