Question Baggage Allowance dimensions

Tying to decipher the baggage allowance for Emirates... the site says total linear dimensions not to exceed 59 inches. Most standard bags are more than that.. Am I reading the policy right?

Is that cabin or checked? Seems big to me. If your bag is 60x40x20cm then that's 120cm which is under 59 inches.

This is checked bag. I'll have to double check the dimensions.

It says 59 inches/150 cm but they are loose with it. I've checked in 64 inches/163cm boxes in mostly without issue in US/CA/IN without issue, except out of IAD, where they are sticklers and even brought out a measuring tape once for some reason. Maybe because it was a cardboard box and not a suitcase.
