The gates beginning last week were out of action, then midweek were working however I was told had been "upgraded" as then was not requesting BP.
Today however the smart gate was asking for mine and others BPs to scan.

I've tried to use the smart gates a couple of times without success. The first time, I went to the guy who was supposed to set me up, and everything seemed to go OK.
I'm arriving at T1 next week - so I'll try again... but not feeling confident.

Ive used the smart gates for about 2 years now with my skywards cards with no break in service with the transition to the new gates, only difference is now with the new gates Ive never been asked for a BP. Flawless and actually very impressed!

This is great - I often transit DXB and run out of the airport for a short amount of time to see a friend, get something in town...
