Smart gates
 

Apparently the smart gates were down recently because they were being upgraded.On departure now at DXB, they don't requested boarding pass (scan)

Flew out of T3 and in to T1 last weekend. Used Smart Gates in both directions without a hitch.

Me too and I.was there a few days before when not working or very slow.Now fixed and no RQ for BP on dep

Smart fare in T3 ,on dep now asking for BP (again) !

Flew out of T3 2 weeks ago. Used Smart Gates without any problem whatsoever.

There's no problem.
The gates beginning last week were out of action, then midweek were working however I was told had been "upgraded" as then was not requesting BP.
Today however the smart gate was asking for mine and others BPs to scan.

Flew out on the 5th, BP was requested.

Until recently smart gates would not allow departing pax through...if that pax a few hours beforehand had entered Dubai via smart gate. pax had to go through agent.Now no restriction.

I've tried to use the smart gates a couple of times without success. The first time, I went to the guy who was supposed to set me up, and everything seemed to go OK.

I'm arriving at T1 next week - so I'll try again... but not feeling confident.

Boarding pass was asked when I departed. It should be noted that the gate even accepted my mobile boarding pass (iPhone screen brightness had to be cranked all the way up though :D)

I’ve used the smart gates for about 2 years now with my skywards cards with no break in service with the transition to the new gates, only difference is now with the new gates I’ve never been asked for a BP. Flawless and actually very impressed!

This is great - I often transit DXB and run out of the airport for a short amount of time to see a friend, get something in town...

While using the Smart Gate at departures earlier this month I was able to scan my mobile BP (had to crank up the screen brightness though :D)
Mighty impressed that it works with screens too..
