Any thoughts?

I flew in new F from STN last Friday.

As known the airport is well below par when it comes to the lounge, no champagne or prosecco for F pax, so we ended going to The Camden pub, which was excellent (ask for Rob the manager to sort you a seat upstairs).

Anyway, boarding was a breeze, and the cabin is out of this world. I have never used the word 'epic' so much. Totally amazing experience. The only drawback is that if you are traveling with a companion the seats are not the most sociable and you're so far apart from the other person you feel that you have to shout to them. For the individual traveller the experience is out of this world. I got the most amazing 5 hours sleep I have ever had on an aeroplane. Being able to control the lighting, and the temperature is incredible, but realistically the temp can only be controlled to a certain extent.

I am just about to fly from Manila back to STN, J then F, with 5 hours in DXB, so that should be another interesting experience.

Just flew from HAM to DXB with A6-EQM in the new first. A nice surprise and a dramatic improvement over the old first. The flight from FRA to DXB also used the new first. I’d prefer that over the A380

Is there a list somewhere of new F routes?

Can't find it now, though this question has been asked and answered a few times, think I'll add a Wiki to this thread with the info, IIRC the routes currently served by new F:

GVA, BRU, FRA, HND, STN. I think there were rumours of VIE? Not sure.

Thanks, been trying to figure it out and couldn't find anything online.

We should try to maintain a wiki, here if there isn't another thread.

For FRA, I imagine EK48 is operated by the new product and EK46 isn't.

Whichever of the flights is not an A380...

Isn’t the answer obvious? It’s the flights operated by the 777, and not the A380 flights. You have your pick: showers and bar, or new private cabin on the 777.

upgrade to First on 777 DXB to STN

Apologies if this has been asked before (I couldn't see anything) but has anyone had experience with upgrading to First on the 777 on the DXB to STN route? I can't seem to find availability for a full redemption flight so was wondering whether or not upgrading from a J ticket is commonly available on this route, especially heading back to STN.

Upgrade and award come form the same inventory, if that helps answer the question. Of course inventory may become available at short notice and at the airport it's space available

The new F on STN (or other new F) flights is not generally available for redemptions. However, there have been reports that it may open up a few days before - but no guarantees.

Currently seeing the new first config on the seat map for our DXB-MLE flight in early December. Hopeful is actually stays that way!

Did you copy this from OMAAT or (more likely) did OMAAT just rip you off?
