Adapter required?
I've always assumed the two prong audio sockets require an adapter for a typical single male 1/8 inch audio jack. Today I plugged it into one of the two ports and I have what sounds like stereo audio. Can someone confirm that I'm not crazy?

I would expect this to result in the same channel going to both ears, not actually stereo (separate L and R channels).

The third (smaller) socket is for the noise reduction. However the two larger sockets are wired internally to give you stereo with a single pin headphone plug. If you look at your headphone jack it usually has two or three bands to get your stereo signal. These match up with the connectors inside the socket. The top two pins of the three pin jacks only match up with the L & R signals in the sockets.

I have often wondered how these things were wired up internally. ^
