Thumbs down First Class Flight With Broken Seat

I'm curious as to whether anyone else has experienced this. Our family of 5 flew in first class from DXB-IAH. My husband's seat was broken, and would not lie flat.

The purser and flight attendant tried to fix it, but could not. They were apologetic, but ultimately it ruined the first class experience. Not to mention it was a 16 hour flight.

I have emailed a complaint, but am I just wasting my time?

You'll get a couple miles. Switching to another seat or a J seat not possible?

Did they not offer to switch the seat? I understand that your husband might not get a seat next to you, but might be worth it to be able to be comfortable for 16 hours.

Had a similar issue (but for J in a 4 hour flight) - they changed my seat instantly.

EK does sometimes offer miles for such inconveniences (saw it on another post in this forum)- so definitely worth it.

I got 30k miles for having no IFE in First-UK to DXB. The purser reported it so I did not have to put in a complaint. I received the apology and miles 3 days later

Was this this week? If so maybe they weren't offered another seat bc F was full. There's a big energy/oil conference in Houston this week so its possible that F was booked full.

Unfortunately, these things happen. Hopefully, you'll get a good amount of Skywards points as compensation.

The F seat is very uncomfortable in the upright position especially for 16 hours. What position was it in?

Hoepfully the purser reported it - so you will get a fair few miles.
