And this has happened on a number of occasions to people I know y to j and j to F....:-:

Try buying a Y class, as in Y RBD fare and not getting an op-up :D

(Caveat: I've ordered a SPML which I don't usually, curious if this affects it, see: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/emira...challenge.html)

Update on my prediction: Y over by 11 as of yesterday and only 1 open seat in J (2-class 77W). I've had them put a note on my booking that I'll take the denied boarding comp as I'm flexible anyway and otherwise would be booking a flight this week on the same route for 700USD so holding thumbs that it works out! Will advise further on the outcome. Being India there could be 50 no-shows.

Flex + Gold ex-HYD if say there's a 30% chance. I'd probably be top 5 in the priority list but I'm not sure I'd be 1st as there could be a Plat or someone on a Flex Plus. Both of which are rare in India routes so I'd be surprised if there are more than 2 or 3 of either and conceivably there may be none. I'm 50:50 on whether I'd prefer the op-up to the IDB Comp. But travelling in my purchased seat is my least preferable.

Is there a reason why this is happening??

Current load now J under by 3 and Y over by 5 only. EK really does know it's loads so well.

It will go full - they seem to be bang on the money.

Actually more likely to go full in J and under in Y from my experiences.

Because that comment was in reference to me and I'm neither a Plat nor on Flex Plus.

That's odd, thought EK was quite strict about these things especially at DXB. Don't they have a manifest prepared already by order of op-ups?

Saltire74 Jan 15, 2017 8:28 am

Compared to this time last year, there has been a 50% drop in reports of opups. Eight reports compared to only 4 so far in the first 15 days of the year.
