Flying mostly F I've seen plenty of absolute morons who get annoyed at things like lack of priority boarding or hand lotion.

Seems to me that life is far too short get upset about such things. So what if it takes you 10 mins longer to get from your seat into the terminal - such a tragedy - NOT !!!!

The other day - "this is the worst airline lounge I've ever been in, Airasia has this muesli on board" (in an EK outstation lounge)

Have you seen the queues at MAN immigration?

As an aside, I almost lived up to my user name the other week. The queue in T1 was huge, and they were forcing everyone to use the eGates. You could only go to the normal channel if you had kids. I had a frank discussion with the official who was enforcing this, before sulking my way back to the end of the queue.

Yes we had this just before Christmas and it took forever for the queue to move:td:

I have changed some of my usual travel and for my last 2/3 arrivals at MAN, I have had to transfer to a codeshare flybe flight( from T3 at MAN) after arriving in T1.

I do this via flight transfers at MAN. I'm usually the only pax there for transfer security check and immigration check. (Especially on a night flight)

The immigration check sometimes takes up to 30 min as they usually have to ask someone to come there from the main immigration hall.

However I don't mind the wait as there are chairs to wait for the officer to come instead of a 30 min queue at immigration.

The immigration officer unlocks the door from flight transfers and I'm usually right at my gate for my next flight from T3.

And Tim Clark should be driving the chariot as well. :D

Thanks for replies all.

Looking at SeatGuru plan and the plan on the EK site, it isn't clear where the doors are on the upper deck in relation to the Y configuration. Is the disembarking door ahead of all of the Y seats?

Couldn't they make Y go down the stairs at the front of the plane and then J have a clear exit?

(thinking out loud sorry!)

I think its between the two Y upper deck cabins

Have a look at the seatmap again
https://www.emirates.com/english/fly...be8b86d92bdfce

Where it says 'Bulkhead' between rows 33 & 34, this is where the Upper Left 1 door is.

The red scribbly line on the photos shows where the front Y upperdeck cabin is situated. The rear one & J class is behind the upperdeck airbridge.

So really... it's only Y rows 34-39 that would get to disembark before J. 24-33 can easily be 'held' until J are off.

Unless, as you suggested, they let them disembark via the front stairs.

December I was in 29A (my first Y flight for two years but not bad on the upper deck)
We disembarked down the front stairs.
Next flight outbound also Y but then back to J for the next two flights!
Upper deck Y is quite comfy - I was surprised!

Yes - and in the case the plane is not full in Y, those rows are not used.
