The A380 delivery rate was abruptly slowed down. One completed 3-class A380 (A6-EUR) has been put directly into storage in Toulouse.

Now I realise a few on here have belittled my posts as agenda or hysteria driven or worse, but believe or not, from a purely manpower and capacity perspective EK is in deep deep trouble...expect more capacity reductions and route consolidation.
While I wouldn't disagree that manpower is an issue at Emirates, I would be careful referencing 'direct inside information'. I tend to find that those who hype the manpower shortage are those on the Boeing fleet. To give a little perspective on why that might be the case, from the introduction of the 777s to the point just before the A330/340 fleet was retired, the 777 filled mostly medium/long-haul sectors. Now the fleet fills all the short-haul with fewer and fewer medium/long-haul sectors. As a consequence, the pilots on the 777 fleet are now flying more frequently, but the actual hours flown per Boeing pilot would have only increased 10-15 hours per month, due to the short-haul nature of the fleet changing the rostering practices. Consequently the 777 fleet largely feels that there's a manpower shortage simply because flying more frequently.

Obviously if manpower was the primary reason for all these cutbacks, the cutbacks wouldn't be for the period of May and June, but rather would be extended to the rest of the year. What is likely happening is some smart capacity management to cut back on routes with less than favourable forward bookings to help save some costs, and push up margins on the remaining network.

Not sure about all those arguments, as far as I've always known (my source being an Airbus guy though) EK pilots always fly near the limit of their monthly total permitted hours as EK tries to prevent paying overtime, so most pilots fly in the region of 90 hours, possibly in a range of 85-95?

However, I do also think these cutbacks are more due to the overall fiscal weakness of EK at the moment, otherwise how would replacing A380 routes with 777s be reducing workload on Boeing crews?

It will usually be a bit less for A380 pilots, but those estimates wouldn't be far off for the Boeing side of things. Also worth mentioning that when the A330/340 was still around, those pilots were flying extremely condensed rosters, possibly only flying 70 hours a month, but with only 9 or 10 days off per month. This was because of the A330/340 flying all the short-haul routes. Once again, I would agree that a labour shortage is contributing to the cutbacks, but I wouldn't say it's the primary reason behind the cutbacks.

Exactly.

Airlineroute is reporting that EK have removed the "subject to government approval" caveat from the third daily NBO flight that was blocked by Kenyan authorities. No official word from the Kenya Ministry of Transport.

I don't know why they put 41/42 on in the first place to be fair, adds no incentives for connections it is literally a middle of the night departure from DXB to BHX or an early evening arrival into DXB from BHX.
