Not flying first leg
I'm on another forum where someone stated that they were going to skip their first flight. The situation is thus:
Return MAN - DXB booked at UK prices.
MAN - DXB leg is 8th December, she is in DXB now so won't get on this flight.
DXB - MAN leg is mid December, she'll use this return as outward leg
MAN - DXB one way booked to get home.
She said she had been told by her travel agent that all it would cost is 80 for the "no show" on the first leg, surely thats not right?
I've said the whole itinerary will be cancelled if she doesn't show for the first flight from MAN-DXB. This happened to me some time ago when I was booking back-to-backs with a single at either end and made the mistake of not being able to make the first flight of one of the back-to-back returns.

I'd agree with you. The return would be cancelled if she no-shows for the first leg.
Even if the ticket is fully flexible, missing the first leg would mean that she could get a refund (- 80), but she still wouldn't have a flight to get to MAN, as it's been cancelled.

EK doesn't (generally) sell tickets where you can use the coupons out of sequence.
Miss one and the whole ticket is cancelled with the applicable fees.
The applicable term is Article 3.4 of the EK Conditions of Carriage:

3.4 Sequence of Flight Coupon use
3.4.1 Your Ticket is valid only for the carriage recorded on the Ticket, from the place of departure via any Stopover(s) to the final place of destination.
Your Ticket will lose its validity and will not be honoured by us if all of the Flight Coupons are not used in the sequence stated in the Ticket unless:
3.4.1(a) the fare already paid for the Ticket is the same or more than the fare applicable to the carriage which results from the out of sequence use of the Flight Coupons;
3.4.1(b) or you have paid any fare differential required for payment by Article 3.4.3
3.4.1(c) or a separate fare has been collected for the unflown sector(s).
