Kosher Meal Option on Emirates

I am just curious as to why Kosher Meals are listed under 'Other Special Meals' and not under Religious Meals.

Judaism probably not a big thing in the UAE or wherever their IT centers are!

I was of the impression that EK did not offer Kosher meals.

Last time I saw anything about this the official line was the UAE does not recognize Israel as a state so we do not offer meals as required under Jewish Law.

I have always been careful when flying on EK not to wear my Star of David or Yamulke - nor have my Israeli passport on the booking.

They are certainly offered across the network and apparently according to some friends, actually decent.

The most popular route for Kosher meals is JFK-DXB.

How strange - I just looked again and Kosher Meals have been moved to Religious meals

Next thing you know EK will be offering a daily service to Tel Aviv

Kosher wine? Now that just sounds like a marketing trick

Palwins No 10 - possibly the worst red wine ever to blight my uneducated taste buds !

I think a dose of Benylin would go down better

LOL

Benylin contains alcohol ( I suspect that that's what actually works rather than the antihistamines in benylin)

In fact my granny used to give me some brandy when I had a cough and cold and I used to feel better as soon as I had it.

Coming back to topic, AFAIK the UAE does not have any problems with Judaism. Otherwise they wouldn't have served Kosher meals on EK. I have met several people practising Judaism living in the UAE. Holding only an Israeli passport might be an issue.

I thought Halal was backwards compatible with Kosher.
