Route/Flight Path

I notice today that majority of European and US flights are routed over Saudi and Egypt, rather than over Iran.

Anyone know the reasoning behind this?

Airspace strike, Security threat, etc ??

Cheers

Could be weather related, or $$$$ to Iran for overflight rights up for renewal

From DXB to Europe Emirates normally go's over Iran, so i guess the otherway around is weather related indeed.

All major airlines are avoiding Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan and the eastern part of Ukraine.
