Paid Upgrades at Heathrow

Hi

Does EK do paid upgrades at check in, like British Airways (and others) do?

I know it's not an exact science, and factors such as how full the plane is can affect things, but does anyone know how much in general a one-way paid upgrade from economy to business tends to be, in Pounds, from Heathrow to Dubai?

I'm flying tomorrow morning - certainly going by the seat map at check in, economy seemed pretty busy.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Not exactly - they will want fare difference and change fee, rather than an offer price, especially at LHR. There is sometimes better luck from other stations (e.g. ex-USA), but in general EK don't do those kinds of offers.

They don't do cheap j to f. Occasionally they will up sell y to j for about 400 from the uk to Dubai if j is empty.

You are referring to the e-mail upgrade offer without full J benefits?

No, offers at the desk in Manchester which I did once years ago. Got lounge access back then...
