First they steal our A380, and now they steal our 4th daily flight
:p Good timings, probably designed for O&D, but does connect to the ex-Asia midnight runs. |
I think MAN will go 3 x A380 then.

I reckon there'll be a 4th daily by the end of the year. No knowledge, just a hunch. |
I have heard a rumour that GLA may be going A380 sometime in the near future....

Good grief! Would that make BKK EK's most served LH destination in terms of flight frequency? LHR has 6 daily flights, so...
They also have fun scheduling: LHR's 6 daily are spaced relatively evenly throughout the day, BKK has a morning, afternoon, evening (9pm) then 3 flights within 90 minutes at 0115, 0225 and 0240. load factors consistently in the 80-90s too...! |

Timings seem odd for connections?
EK376/377 0340/1250 // 1540/1900 EK372/373 0940/1855 // 2105/0050 EK370/371 1520/0055 // 0225/0535 EK374/375 2230/0735 // 0930/1300 EK384/385 0300/1215 // 0115/0445 EK418/419 0850/1810 // 0240/0545 In terms of connections ex-DXB, EK384 and EK376 take on the bulk of the lunchtime ex-EU departures and evening MENA, i.e. flights that arrive at around DXB peak c.0000. EK418 and EK372 pick up the morning traffic at DXB, i.e. flights that have come in from evening the day before ex-EU, morning shuttles in the region and some US flights. That leaves EK374 as the morning ex-EU connector and EK370 which is pretty much the local O&D service. For the return, all the late flights - i.e. 385/371/419 all connect to the ex-DXB morning rush (i.e. morning flights to Europe and the US, hence the frequency required ex-BKK: there is no lunchtime connecting demand ex-BKK as evidenced by only EK377 servicing it; that's more for DXB residents). EK377 does the O&D demand, leaving EK373 - which does a mixture of O&D and midnight peak connections - and EK375 doing the lunchtime EU and GCC departures. BKK scheduling is very optimised towards connecting to the various waves, especially for EU departures, which is no surprised given the passenger profile. |
