Chauffer - Multiple pickups?

Good morning you helpful bunch.

I have an upcoming business flight, and looking to book the chauffer driver.

On my booking we have 2 passengers, and they're offering 2 cars, however I am travelling with my girlfriend, who wants to share a car. Obviously living in the Middle East we live separately, will the driver pick up from 2 locations, as I can’t see that as an option on the website?

Thanks in advance
Electricman

Just stay over...

They are very computer says no...They have to say when they have picked up and dropped off so it it is out of the way the driver may get in trouble.

I'm pretty sure the law against unmarried unrelated people of the opposite gender living together in the UAE isn't an attempt to boost real estate demand

Still, everyone officially having their own place does have advantages

Use the two cars, I'd say.

When you get the call the day before, ask.

Emirates staff are quite bad at allowing it but it happens often enough. I'm not in Dubai though.

Whilst I'm sure it can be done if you get the right driver, there is no procedure for arranging this formally so it is not guaranteed, and may be more hassle than it's worth.

In the context of the short drive within Dubai (i.e. likely max 40 minutes), ordering two cars would be the much easier option.

This reminds me.

I got a text from the driver in DXB who was 15 mins early. He never called.

As I was walking the car I got a call from HQ asking where I was!

Annoying!

I've noticed that they do check names sometimes.

Most of the time when I'm outside my apartment building at an ungodly hour there is not much chance of confusion!

Could the OP split the tickets?. If each pax has their own reservation number then each pax should have individual control over the chauffeur drive.

Just so that EK knows that you are trvelling together the OP can call EK after the booking is split and ask them to put a note on the tickets.

What I am not sure is if there will be any issue at checkin ( due to different surnames) if checking in separately.

I remember doing something similar ex LGW while travelling with my parents . Had to split the tickets to upgrade them to J as I didn't have the miles needed to upgrade all three of us to J at the same time and was not sure that the seats would still be there after a week. ( while I was waiting for my spg points to come to skywards)

While logging into the EK website using the different confirmation numbers we each had the option to book the car separately.
