Very pleased with our allocated Blacklane CD in Stockholm today. Brand new EQS and very professional chauffeur.

I wish Blacklane had the London contract!

Is this a B6 ticket? If so, I think no, but no first hand experience. If I remember correctly, CD was removed from tickets not issued by EK or QF back in 2015. It was recently also removed from QF coded but EK operated flights, so I think you now basically need an EK issued ticket (or possibly a QF issued ticket with an EK operated and EK coded flight on it?).

What's the difference bet. the J and F CD? I've booked my CD while on J but now I got upgraded to F. Just curious 🙂

J is usually mercedes E class or similar, F is an S class or similar.

In DXB J gets BMW estate car, F gets Merc s class

In my experience it depends on the (out) station. In DXB it seems quite ‘defined’ although I once got an F car to the Meridian when flying J.
In other places there may sometimes be no difference. In AMS I have had an S class in J twice ‘because of the distance’ (it was a 120Km trip). Last time a 60 Km trip in also S class but I was in F.

There certainly is no ‘promise’ about a better car, so don’t get too hung up on this.

Dumb question: Do you tip the CD?

It is not a dumb question, many have asked it before also. I think the general consensus is go by local tipping custom. Eg in USA it will very much be expected. However in Dubai is it not expected, but will be gratefully received as the drivers are low paid workers.

How much would be an appropriate tip for an EK chauffer in the US and Dubai? A regular taxi driver in the US I usually give between $1-$5 depending on the length of ride and driver safety. I'm assuming it would be more since it is a "specialty" ride.

Do not tip outside the US

Not that simple. In india for example it is expected.
I always tip the CD in Dubai as well, usually 40-50AED. Drivers are always very appreciative

I don’t think that makes it right. Tipping outside the US is an insult.

I know India well, and whilst it is survival of the fittest and everyone will do what it takes to get the best deal, I think calling a tip “expected” strange. I don’t think many local Delhi or Mumbai residents are handing out tips to drivers.

Why?

Do you tip bus drivers, or train drivers?

Indeed, and the problem with those who do tip EK chauffeurs are spoiling it for the rest of us.

I do have some sympathy to do so in the US, as you guys probably even tip your children when they say thank you, but anywhere else in the world - JUST STOP.
