The guy with the sign has the list of drivers, and he'll shout the correct driver over. Then it's a quick walk out into the car park.

Great sounds easy 🙂

Does Chauffeur Drive exist as normal in the UK on Christmas Day? Debating booking a flight back to the UK that doesn't land until the morning of the 25th December.

If there’s a flight, there’ll be CD.

Yep, it's not exactly 'public transport'. ;)

I have a question about wait time for pickups -- I will be landing in Delhi and want to stop and get a SIM card. I will not have checked bags to wait for. How long do I have before I am in danger of the driver leaving?

What I usually do in similar cases is to meet the driver and tell him what you want to do. He will most likely walk with you to the 'phone shop' and wait until you have got what you need.
If you want to do it airside, you'll have quite a bit of time. Some people will have to wait for their luggage (even though they should have priority luggage delivery if the have CD) and even have it checked by customs. The drivers won't leave before everyone has had a chance to sort all of that out.
One caveat: I have never been to Delhi, so this information comes from experience at other outstations. But I would be surprised if it is very different.

If it is just a sim card, then no issues you have plenty of time. They allow a reasonable time for immigration / customs queues + baggage collection

Any recent experiences in HKG with the current ongoing protests in the city?

It seems things are escalating there.

I have a trip to HKG this weekend in F and have booked Chauffeur Drive to and from my hotel in Kowloon, Mongkok area. But i see a note on the app below the booking which says "chauffeur-drive not offered".

In answer to my own question, CD arriving into HKG is a mess at the moment. After searching for half an hour for the driver i went upstairs to the checkin desks and they sent someone down with me to a desk at the far end of the terminal and then someone else walked me outside and behind the terminal to wait around 1 hour for a car to show up.

Hi does anyone have an Emirates affiliated credit card that offers complimentary CD? We have a Citibank platinum Emirates card which we’ve used to book CD in Sydney, Dubai and the arrival destination for previous flights with no problem. Today I get told that the complimentary service only applies to travel to an Australian airport and worst still, they cancelled the 2 complimentary chauffeurs we had previously booked for Dubai (travelling in Dec). Has anyone else had this problem?
We had no warning of any changes to our card’s t&c although I noticed they’re advertising the new limited conditions to new Citibank customers. Emirates staff referred me to Citibank to clarify and Citibank referred me back to Emirates. No one can tell me when the new restrictions began. Needless to say we’re not happy!

I think it’s poor form to cancel chauffeur s we had already booked when they can’t tell me when the new policy began and were willing to confirm the bookings originally. I’ve submitted a complaint via the Emirates website but not holding my breath re: a prompt response.

Newest lot of Tristar subcontractors out of LHR are leaving a bad taste in my mouth. E class from F on EK003 the other day, plus a 20 minute wait. Not ideal.

I have this card but always qualify for CD based on J/F travel so the benefit isn't something I use. But I'm sorry to say its clear that this card is on the chopping block because it feels like its in wind-down mode. The CD booking mechanism looks incredibly convoluted! It will need to come directly from Citi though as they do the booking through Hughes or (ew) Brunel.

Yep, the card is not what it once was. The same thing happened when they capped the miles you could earn at $3-$10k spend. We were never notified of that either. Had a Citibank rep say that they only manage the credit side of things and it’s up to Emirates to communicate any changes to the rewards program where as Emirates staff say the opposite. Had a Citibank rep try and pass me onto the concierge service for answers and they were even less help. Not impressed at all by this level of service for a platinum card.

Platinum gets S-Class in Dubai

Hi, this is the third time that I am arriving in DXB on J and they print the slip with the red line and not with the blue line - meaning First. And indeed when coming outside the car I am getting is S-Class. So i assume it’s an unpublished benefit?!?
