I have a 9 hour layover in DXB which does not qualify for Dubai Connect (presumably because there was an earlier possible connection). I'd like to go out of the terminal and into the city for a few hours. Am I still entitled to CD? MMB won't let me book it (the option isn't there) and the "contact us" function on the Emirates web site is next to useless.

I learned this week that you can just walk up to the CD desk and show your inbound boarding pass. A car is arranged for you straight away.

As your final destination...in the above case the computer may say no.

I guess I'll just have to try my luck.

I'm afraid I didn't have a way to check this as my flight did qualify for Dubai Connect eventually.

I had a 4 hour layover (on a LGW-DXB-DEL J ticket) at DXB a few weeks ago and the EK app had the option of booking a CD drive from and to the airport.

This didn't show up on my MMB on my computer .

I didn't take it as my layover was from 1225 AM to 0430 AM

PS: it wasn't even a paid J and was actually a Y ticket which was upgraded with miles!!!

Any experience with car seats at DXB? Do they have them "over the counter" or pre-booking is required?

I flew EK231 to IAD two days ago. Upon arrival I didn't have a driver waiting for me. Turns out that two days before the flight they checked the destination, decided it was over distance, and canceled it! Two issues here:

1) They canceled CD without telling me about it.
2) They confused radius vs. driven miles. I've done this same CD request in June and it wasn't a problem. About 72 driven miles but just inside the allowed 60 mile radius.

They did an ok job recovering at the airport. Called me a car once we figured out what happened and drove me most of the way where family then picked me up (they wanted $69 to take me the extra ~12 miles!). Though they weren't willing to accept 60 mile radius to actually mean radius. I'll be calling Emirates to sort the return CD. Not sure if it's worth trying the full ride again or if I should simply use a pickup point within 60 driven miles.

Anyone have experience with this at IAD?
