LHR - Chauffeur drive

We are flying out of LHR but are getting the train to central London from home up north. Does anyone know how early we can book to be collected before the flight. At MAN I think it's 4 hours. Our flight will be 8pm.

Also if we book chauffeur back to Euston (Central London - 20 miles) and then land late and need to try to catch the train further along the line at Watford (20 miles but in the wrong direction) will this be okay to change the journey with the chauffeur when we land or would they not do this?

TIA

Jo

Assuming this in the week, traffic in central London will be horrendous at that time. You may be better getting off at Milton Keynes and getting the chauffeur drive from there - avoiding London completely. You can specify the time you want to be picked up on the website.

Maybe do the same thing on the return. There's one train an hour from MK to Manchester.

I don't think the Manchester-London trains stop at Watford any more.

Is it correct that you can only book the chauffeur for 4 hours before the flight?
I find that hard to believe, as you have to be at the airport 3 hours before your flight, that would mean you only had 1 hour to be transported to the airport, on a good day it takes me that long but on a bad day or at certain times of day the motorway it can take several hours..

NO, check the website after you book the flight. I have booked CDs for much longer before a flight, but it may depend on the departure airport in question.

you'll have enough time if you are there 2h before departure, in my experience

No. I've booked it earlier, and changed it to earlier still when the chauffeur drive company called the day before the flight.

Thanks for your help but we are travelling to Liverpool not Manchester so some of them do stop at Watford. We will be in London well earlier than pick up and will be leaving bags at a friends office then being picked up from there. The reason for going so early is in case anything goes wrong with the travel plans.

Ah, that makes more sense! The car company should phone you the day before, so you can ask to get a car earlier. So, you may get to beat rush hours, and have a bit longer in the lounge.

I arrive into MUC on EK F and have a connecting flight on LH 3 hours later. Assuming I won't be able to get my bags checked through, I'll have to collect them and make my way to Terminal 2 to drop them off again.

Would the Emirates chauffeur take me from T1 to T2 or should I just walk it? :D

Same for the return as well, I'll need to get from T2 to T1 with bags.

I have a 4.5 hour layover in DXB and thinking of going to Al-Rigga to visit a friend for dinner. Can I just rock up to the Chauffeur counter in DXB and organise a transfer to and fro the airport?

The reason I'm not keen on doing it online because the minimum pick up time is 3hrs, and that seems ridiculous if I'm only traveling from Al-Rigga to DXB.

No, as far as I know the CD conditions specifically exclude terminal transfers. Anyway MUC isn't a difficult airport and recently on arriving in EK J I was off the plane and on the curb outside in 5 minutes flat with a non-Schengen passport (but also no checked luggage)

Is chauffeur service available for tickets booked via 3rd party websites (OTAs)?

If I am meeting a friend who is travelling on a different airline, is it fine if he joins me for the limo drive? Do the drivers care or verify this somehow?
