GLA lounge

Emirates new dedicated lounge under construction at Glasgow. When checking in today, staff tell me it will have both J and F sections. Also heard a 3 rd daily will definitely be happening...

Hmmm.... will that be the first lounge outside DXB with separate J & F sections?

Separate J and F sections don't make much sense to me... In PRG and MLE the contract lounges have reserved seating areas for EK F but this makes sense as seating is in shorter supply.

The only tangible difference between the J and F lounges in DXB is the food offering which is unlikely to be extended to outstations (contrary opinions welcome). I guess the extended Spa options are of interest to some, but again that will not be brought to GLA.

The beverage selection in the F lounge does need to be differentiated from J.

Any indication of timing for either the lounge opening or the third daily?

Anyone know where this construction is taking place? I'm assuming in the international pier?

After you walk along the corridor to the left of the Beardmore you come to a right angled turn to take you to the gates. As you turn the corner there is a kiddies play area. The lounge is supposed to be around this area.

Much shorter walk to the gate than from the Skylounge.

Aw fantastic. And it wouldn't be hard to make it much better than the Skylounge too so win win.

That would fit in with the current MAN & LGW flights. It's great for going to DXB, arrives at a quiet time, and allows for a few scoops when you get there

The lounge is marked on the airport website terminal map at the start of the international pier, the grey unit beside the kids play area.

Interesting to see mention of a 3rd daily - does anyone know what the loads are like on the GLA route, esp with the 2nd one being recently added. I can imagine it will be busy up till the Commonwealth Games in summer but beyond this - i've been on this specific route a couple of times and usually on the way back had a few seats to myself in Economy - in fact, the back cabin has been literally so empty at times its a little crazy.

Perhaps just my luck on those few trips but whats the actual status of the route in terms of occupancy?

Loads in J and Y seem to be good on both services, but very low in F. Several times I have been the only person in that cabin. Hope they don't stop F!
