Another "Check-In Upgrade only" ticket question
I booked a ticket on the EK site and it warned me that I can only upgrade at check-in. However, neither the fare rules nor e-ticket document state that it is only available for upgrade at check in.
On MMB, it lets me select the "upgrade by miles" tab but it states that none of my sectors have availability (while according to EF all four do.) Is it showing all 4 as unavailable because my ticket only permits upgrades at check-in?
Does EK no longer write that the ticket can only be upgraded at check-in in the comments section of the e-ticket / in the fare rules?
I am not frustrated and am perfectly happy waiting till check-in to try and upgrade but just want to know if the issue is that EF is wrong, the EK site is buggy or my ticket doesn't allow upgrades.

I think when MMB tells you there is no availability, it means there is no availability for YOU based on your fare. I am not sure that EK feels it needs to place this in the fare rules, since the rules apply to a Y ticket. Upgrading falls outside the rubric of a ticket's rules.

Addendum: if you really want J, perhaps call EK and rebook the ticket for the lowest FLEX fare; then you can upgrade right away, since you can see availability for all legs.

For example on a recently purchased Y YYZ-KHI fare
