Upgrade question
I managed to get wait listed for d class for a flight in May, it now shows y class and j class confirmed. Do I need to call them to do anything? Will they deduct the miles at check in?

It won't be automatic, you need to authorise the deduction. So either call frequently to check or just wait till check-in.

I called and the y ticket was cancelled and j confirmed again. I then tried to waitlist for the one remaining y flight I have from gva and the agent asked me how I got wait listed for d availability

I also learned today that your MMB will reflect your original ticket baggage allowance and some other things... as they don't issue new tickets for upgrades.
