Do I qualify for Dubai Connect?

Hi,

I have a ticket CMB-SIN-DXB-LHR-LAX-DFW booked via American Airlines... the SIN-DXB-LHR portion is a QF flight operated by EK (but sold as QF codeshare) in First Class. The connection time in DXB is 6h45m... Do I qualify for Dubai COnnect and - if so - how can I book it?

Thanks a lot!

The itinerary must be a single booking and ticketed on one ticket. The ticket must be issued on an Emirates (176) document or a Qantas (081) document.

Dubai Connect

hi

Am booked next week on EK 162/566 DUB - DXB - BLR in BUsiness. I deliberately did not bok the first DXB-BLR so as to get a sleep en-route and also the 566 allows me to squeeze in a business meeting before the connecting flight.

In MMB I have been offered and booked Dubai Connect - I thought you absolutely had to be on next possible flight. I hope they honour it but am a little worried to cancel my pre-booked hotel in Dubai.

Can anyone advise if I am likely to hit any issues?

John

That is my understanding as well. Enjoy if you do have access to Dubai Connect!

What's the procedure for Dubai Connect. From my reading of MMB I get a voucher at checkin in Dublin? IS that confirmation I am then getting it as if so, I would still have time to cancel my other reservation before departure.

Just dont want to be stranded without a room - albeit the lounge will be available.

Dubai Connect- will I qualify?

Sorry,I'm a total newbie here .. so hope I'm posting this in the right spot. I can also see similar queries and I've read the info on Emirates website.... but just looking for a bit of personal imput- from experience.

I have booked the first legs of my travel for Oct 14 from Australia to Senegal using Qantas Frequent Flyer Points. Business Class.

13.10.14 QF 9 Melbourne to Dubai.
14.10.14 EK 795 Dubai to Dakar.

In manage my booking the Dubai Connect live button showed up so I went ahead and put in a reservation. I qualify time wise as a Business Class traveller however there are 7 flights leaving Dubai for Dakar before my 7.20am departure..albeit 3 separate flights (with different flight numbers/airlines) for each. Example Dubai- Doha- Madrid - Dakar. Dubai - London -Madrid- Dakar.

My questions are does the Dubai Connect button always show in manage my booking or only if you are eligible? Bear in mind I'm on the Qantas site as I booked the fare using FF. Will I get confirmation of the success of my booking application soon or only on checking in for my first flight?

It really doesn't bother me if I'm declined, I'll just spend the time in the Emirates lounge- but I'm curious. Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Only direct routes count, so you're good.

Dubai Connect only shows up in MMB if you're eligible, at least on the EK website.

Nope, only if you are eligible. If it is showing for you, you should be good.

I think that I am eligible but can find no Dubai Connect button in Manage A Booking.

For your information, I am arriving and departing on EK-operated flights, not codeshares. I am departing from DXB on the first available flight to my destination. My connection time is well in excess of the minimum. I made the booking on emirates.com so arranging Dubai Connect through my travel agent is not relevant.

Before I 'phone Emirates', I'd be grateful to see what information and advice others may have.

Thank you for your help.

I was recently reviewing my first booking for flights with Dubai connect and the Qantas site showed various buttons... QEats, Dubai Connect, Chauffeur Drive. (these were not greyed out but available to be clicked on)

On clicking the buttons the system would think for a bit before a response would come back 'you flight is not eligible for Q Eats' or 'your flight is not eligible for chauffeur drive'.

We subsequently changed a couple of flights when availability opened up and the same buttons appear but now show the relevant flights in a drop down list.

So it seemed at the time that you need to click through in order for the system to tell you if you are eligible.

But that's only a data point from a single booking.

As an update - I arrived from Dublin at midnight - decided not to book 3am to Bangalore but booked 1pm - MMB offered me Dubai Connect and I got the hotel voucher at checkin. Much appreciated but not in accordance with rules surprisingly - but I shouldnt complain

Odd that Dubai Connect was offered on Manage A Booking to a passenger who was not booked on the first flight out of DXB yet in my case it isn't.....

(I deliberately chose the first flight ex-DXB to be able to book Dubai Connect, specifically to be able to avoid the dreadful showers in the lounges.)

The only valid case I know when you become eligible for Dubai connect even though not departing on the first flight out, is if the first flight out is full/ sold out in your class of booking at the time of your booking. The system then counts the next flight as the first departing flight and if the gap between your arrival and departure is more than that required for Dubai Connect, automatically enables Dubai Connect in MMB.
