Since you are in 10B (aisle) there's a good chance 8D (aisle) may switch with you unless they want to be close to 8B.
MRU/DXB is a very couple/family flight (guestimate), so you can expect a lot musical chairs.

If you ask at check-in, they may shuffle you around if the person sitting next to you is travelling alone and hasn't got his BP yet.
Or as extra said, just ask them to swap.

Reminds me of an incident just after our marriage. Flying into AMS from MAA, we both got separate seats ( didn't do online checkin aswell ) . With a genuine smile on face I told the check-in staff that they just can't do this on our first trip after marriage, he laughed out and after few minutes I was handed over two business class tickets for our MAA-DXB flight.
Can't get better..

They moved us 24 hours before without asking to 6 a and 6 b which I thought was good. I couldn't be bothered to contact ek and they sorted it without asking, I noticed on expert flyer on the seat map that my wife's seat was available and I then logged in and it said seats none so I then waited until check in and we're in 6 a and b.
Not bad.
