Transit in SYD

Hello everyone. I am arriving SYD at 7:25pm on the 25th and leaving on a Hawaiian flight at 9:20pm.

Does anyone know the transit situation at SYD? I don't think I need to clear Australian customs do I? Is the process smooth as both airlines use T!? Anything I need to look out for?

Thanks in advance for any insight.

Will you have any checked luggage?

If so, the issue will be whether the 1st airline will check the luggage through to the 2nd

If so, then it is straightforward to connect in Sydney; just head to international connections and pass through security

Thanks Dave. I'm going to try to carry on. I'm in F from AKL-SYD but I doubt Emirates will check to Hawaiian. Worth a shot!

Emirates have an Interline agreement with Hawaiian so it is possible. It may depend on whether you're on one ticket and how good the check in staff in AKL are.

Thanks everyone for the comments. Transit was more than simple. Off the Emirates flight, through a security check then straight to gate for departure. Even got to use the Emirates lounge on arrival. I did have carry on which made it easier.
