So....back on topic
[QUOTE=Zol;20080745]As suggested by fellow members, we thought it might be useful to have a thread focusing on OP-UP experiences. Maybe with all this data, we can get to the bottom of this upgrade saga. Therefore, please post your experiences below the in the prescribed format:

The problem is I wrote a few times to (Sir) Maurice Flanagan with constructive criticism of and suggestions for the Skywards program way back in 2007 and 2008 and he took umbrage at some of my thoughts and personally fired a vitriolic response or two at me. For me this is a sign of "he who is most indignant is guilty" type response but having had a good op-up success rate until then I dropped to zero for about five years until I got the lone one in Paris last year.

just to understand: is EK upgrading only when the booked class is fully booked? or also randomly (e.g. a marketing management)?

Upgrade given Y to J
Location Check in EK020 9 July 2013 I also think I was chosen for an op up on the next flight EK3703. My BP beeped twice after the initial beep when the staffer put it into the machine but the staffer didn't say anything. The guy was surly and gave the impression that pax were interrupting his reveries so probably couldn't be bothered. Also I boarded from the J class lounge in A concourse - he opened the gate at the very last minute. (Even though it said the flight was boarding for quite a while he told pax to go and sit down it wasn't boarding) The flight wasn't illuminated either at the boarding gate........odd? |
