Seriously?

You are announcing which flight you were upgraded on.

It would not be difficult to whittle it down from that info alone, no?

Who has access to passenger info? Emirates....do you think they a) care or b) would do anything with this? Point is no one on here can identify anyone. If emirates did they would be committing a breach of data protection which is a criminal offence here in the UAE.

This is very interesting stuff, no doubt about it.

But does everyone really want their personal details being sifted through by who knows who?

Surely, if I had a friend at Emirates I could get all your personal details based on the information in the post. And there are lots of people on this board who have friends at Emirates.

So I would suggest posters might think about that. I certainly wouldn't post my details on this forum, but the mods know exactly who I am anyway.

Food for thought!

True..maybe should just post month and year. But anyway what would someone do with anyones info, and I doubt someone at EK would risk their career over that.

Or maybe you got upgraded at the gate at DXB - they usually print out a new boarding pass, tear the old one, and hand over the stub of the new BP back to you. Unless you actually looked to see what the agent was doing behind the counter, you may not have noticed it.

My wife and I got upgraded from J to F at Buenos Aires (EZE) in early January. We both had Skywards Flex tickets, we are both Gold members. The flight was delayed and we were on our way home from our honeymoon so the checkin staff did the operational upgrade. After 13 flights in 18 days, the upgrade was very much appreciated.
