7hrs in transit at DXB?

As an economy class passenger flying LHR-DXB-DEL, I can imagine 7hrs at DXB is going to be pretty painful.

Is there any pay lounges? If not, what else is there to do?

I am contemplating getting rid of my night in a hotel in Dubai to save on costs, which means staying at the airport in transit instead.

My flight lands at DXB around 8.45am and my flight to DEL leaves around 15.15. There is an earlier flight to DEL but that's only an A330, and I specifically want a 777, so it's not an option.

Advice please.

Google Marhaba Lounges and you'll find pay lounges at DXB. There are also "sleeping pods" available for a fee - they were highlighted in a thread on here recently - maybe someone can give a pointer if you can't find them with a search.

Try posting / looking in the lounge meet up thread. There might be a gold flying J/F who can guest you into the lounge.

To be honest, there is very little difference between the A330 and B777 experience on a short flight like DXB-DEL. By the time the meal service is over and done with, you are pretty much left with 30 minutes to do anything before the pre-arrival rituals begin.

I used to share your disdain for the Emirates A330s, but I have now accepted them on Dubai - India routes when the option would be a longer layover. YMMV though.

I agree. Its only 3 hours and by the time meal service is over I get maybe an hours sleep if I'm lucky.
