Lurker HELP requested
last year i transferred spg points to emirates. the original reservation needed to be cancelled and the points where returned to the emirates account. Emirates has since frozen my account with them (all the miles where funded via SPG)
does SPG have any contact at emirates to resolve this issue. Emirates has basically taken 150k points away
thank you for your help

skyward points have not offered any tangible assitance. The issue has been going on since September, starwood must have some liason with skyward.
Is there an alternat way to contact SKYWARD that circumvents the call center?

You have points in an Emirates account that were frozen by Emirates. I would suggest you ask the Emirates forum how to best work with Emirates. SPG has nothing to do with freezing an Emirates account.

why Emirates froze your account? did you violate any rules? does SPG transfer triggered the freeze. like other posters, i think this is something between you and Emirates.
I hope this gets resolved to your satisfaction.
good luck

the issue was that a credit card used for taxes on the booked (and then cancelled) reservation was cancelled due to fraud that cancellation caused the credit to be rejected when emirates tried to refund the taxes back to the card.
I am not aware of any rule violation on my part

From what you posted, this is not an SPG issue. Ask the mods to move this thread to the appropriate forum and you might get a better answer. Sounds like an issue between Emirates, your CC, and you.
Maybe your CC would be willing/able to reactivate your account to let the credit process. I can't believe Emirates doesn't have a process to address closed CC accounts.
Good luck.

Now that we have the full story:
1. Presuming that the card was cancelled as the result of someone else's action, call Emirates and give them the replacement card # and ask them to refund the taxes to that account. What happened is extremely odd because the CC issuer will generally accept the credit and post it to your new account. The credit refusal triggers all kinds of fraud alarms.
2. At the same time, point out that Emirates froze your account, but that it's now resolved. Would they please unfreeze.
You have no beef with anybody, but to the extent that there's a fix it's with Emirates and has much to do with SPG as it does with Macy's.

account blocked assitance needed
in August 2011 I booked two tickets dxb-sez and mru-dxb, I ended up having to cancel the tickets and paid the redeposit fee. Emirates took an extended period of time to credit the miles back to my account and then Emirates blocked my account.
I have called emirates multiple times and provided the requested documentation (a copy of my passport). I have gotten nowhere with respect to unblocking the account. I stand to have 150000 points become worthless- Emirates miles expire in 36 months.
The tickets where for me and my traveling companion - all legitimate travel nothing violating any rules.
What can I do to get someone at Emirates to assist me?
Thank you for your input.

thanks again
I have posted the information in Skywards.
my theory for posting on SPG forum is that I have status with SPG and feel that the relationship between SPG and Skywards would help escalate the issue within Emirates.
Thank you for your understanding.

I'd start with info at the following link: http://www.skywards.com/Help_servicecentres.aspx
It provides phone numbers, fax numbers, and info about email contact.
If you've already tried those, why not visit a ticket office / airport (or try phone reservations), and say that you want to buy a ticket (make it a refundable one), but you're not willing to do so until your Skywards account issue is resolved. Perhaps they'll help you resolve the issue quickly if a ticket purchase is on the line.
