Dxb - ham - jfk

Dxb - ham - jfk
hi
a couple of years back, i was able to fly to hamburg (from eastern europe) and then jump on a flight which was DXB - HAM - JFK.
have starting looking into flights for a trip mid year, and it seems all EK flights are now DXB - USA direct? is there no more stopover's in hamburg (or any city in europe). i really dont want to have to fly DME - DXB - JFK as thats 5 hrs in the wrong direction, to then simply fly back where i came from onward to JFK!
any ideas?
