Red face Wrong spelling

Hey

Kinda stuck here..

I have booked a flight for a friend that leaves the US on monday to Aus.. only to realize that her middle name has been spelt wrong..Well has an extra letter. Anne.. should of been Ann

will this be much of a drama for her getting her flights and being let back in to the USA?

I rang the company I booked through being a "internet booking site" they cant change it which I totally understand. I rang the airlines involed directly and they said that cant change the simple mistake either.Which I have learn't never book from any site other than the airlines directly. They said they can leave a note at the check in counter but cant gaurentee her boarding flights or what so...

I totally understand I am at fault here. but thought it would be easier to fix.

anyone got any ideas ?

Feeling totally blonde and lost at the moment

Firstly, welcome to FT and the EK Forum,

Ok, first question. Is your friend travelling on Emirates? You say "leaving from the US on Monday to Aus..."

I'm assuming then that your friend is heading to Dubai, then onto Australia. I honestly wouldn't worry too much. As long as first name and last name is correct, your friend should be fine.

If this is in the wrong airline thread, then let me know and I can move it to where it needs to be...

Dont stress....

Thanks for your reply. Yes she is booked on emirates.

I just thought it would be easier to get it cleared up if I rang the airline's direct involed..but I got nothing.

I've done similar on emirates so many times I dont care to remember! Never a problem - they wont change it but as you say they will put a note for check in and it will be sorted there. Emirates are much better than most in this regard as they dont charge for changes for spelling and the like.

It will be fine. There are much worse problems (and gross misspellings) that airlines also overlook.

One letter of the middle name should not be
A problem. I have had no issues with a misspelled
Surname either.

As long as it looks almost the same you should be okay.

When they print the boarding pass, my middle name is
Never there. Maybe it's because of my rather long surname:-)
