mrtdxb,
Many thanks for your effort and reply.
We are now firmly ensconced in our hotel, well for a few more minutes until it's time to go out and enjoy dinner.
We did indeed get a water taxi right to the bottom of the lane where our hotel is and then it just a 50 metre haul up the lane. Great service and the staff were great all the way through.
Can't say the same about the A340-300 with the old style horrible J class seats. I didn;t dare move too much in case my hips triggered the FA button.
And as you say, Venice is truly an amazing place.
Cheers
Johnny

J seats on Airbus A340-300 have been pretty good, nothing to complain about. Have been traveling with my wife and we enjoyed the Godiva chocolate and other specials such as champagne and the view down to the "Palm Island".
Palm Island & Al Burj Seven Star Hotel after departure

Life is so beautiful, the Airbus A340-300 has such great windows, 3 windows per row!

I will be staying at the San Clemente Palace Hotel, does anyone know if Emirates offer the boat chauffeur from this hotel to the airport?
Also does anyone know who emirates use for this service? - I will be arriving on another airline and currently looking into transfer options.
Thanks

I do not know who Emirates uses but you can simply go down to the piers (turn left as you exit terminal and follow the path to the waterfront (7 min walk) and they are all lined up. Go to the booth and they will organize one for you.

Nice bar that a boat will be the pick up method
Hi
In Venice shortly and finishing a cruise. Would like to ideally be picked up by boat for the airport transfer. Does anyone know of a nice bar where we can enjoy a quiet drink whilst we wait for our water taxi to arrive?

Assuming that you can get there the bar by the pool at the Cipriani hotel is very nice or the small bar in the front of the Ca Segredo hotel (that has its own dock that is right there at the terrace the bar is on) and on the Grand Canal to boot.
