Upgrading with miles question
I'm attempting to upgrade a booking from J to F using miles. There are 2 people on the booking, and together we have enough miles to do the upgrade.
However, it appears to be trying to charge my account for the full 65K miles rather than taking from both accounts. Both our Skywards numbers are on file.
Is there anyway around this online, or do I have to phone?
Cheers,
Rick

The res system is treating you as one PNR - thats why Skywards is trying to deduct from the one single account.
In order for you to deduct from each account, you will need to see if EK can split the res into 2 single PNR's, thereby allowing you to deduct miles from each account.
I know you can do this with other carriers such as UA, (but not without some effort and an agent who knows what they are doing)
You're going to have to call them I'm afraid. And persist if the first agent doesnt or cant do it. Call again - the old FT mantra.
Cheers

As eightblack mentioned, as long as the PNR cannot be separated, you have to call the service desk, but both of your accounts shall be more than 32.5K to be able to do that. I guess you know it, but wanted to mention anyhow.

I just phoned the DXB call centre and they did the upgrade without any issues.
Thanks to ExpertFlyer for alerting me to the upgrade availability
Can't wait for my first F experience on the A380

If you don't mind me asking: did they split the PNR into 2 or not?
