I was told by the Purser on a flight last weekend that it would be 4 gates a month.

Personally I think 6 months to fully open is stretching it out a bit much and they might accelerate it if all goes well.

I will be in DXB for 4 hours tomorrow morning and will write a detailed picture report of the new terminal. Sadly Im not departing in an A380, but maybe I can get into the lounge anyway.

As of today twelve gates are being used at Concourse A. Both the A380, and 777s are using the Concourse. Soon all twenty gates will be functional.

Yikes! What is heck going on? Why he steal the checked bag by other passengers. It's unacceptable! He should being caught. He will go to jail for that. He should never steal by passengers bag. It's not yours. It's belonging to other passengers.

In Quito, Ecuador, after the baggage claim area; there is an armed police office prior to exiting that area. He checks ALL the baggage stubs issued with your boarding pass against the tags on the claimed baggage to make sure someone doesnt just grab a bag off the luggage carousel and walk off.

If I am not mistaken, that is the only place I have seen that done and I think it is a great idea and think it should be done elsewhere as well.

It used to be standard procedure at most Indian airports when I used to fly as a kid - 15 to 20 years back. Nowadays, no more.

DAAs official website finally has Concourse A/A Gates airport map online. It's under Terminal 3.

Told them to fix the web page up a little last week because Terminal 3 was actually Concourse B on the webpage, and that they are confusing pax. Now you can clearly see they have Terminal 3 Arrivals/Departures, Concourse A Departures, and Concourse B Departures/Arrivals maps neatly illustrated. Still need Concourse A Arrivals.
