Yes your right. I chose the longer stopover purely on price as it was about £300 cheaper.
I can book a hotel room at the airport for about £67 per night.
I'll wait and see what the reply will be but I think it's not probably going to be favourable.
Just got the reply and it wasn't favourable, so I'm still looking for lounge access if anyone can oblige.

I can get access to the Marahaba lounge in terminal 1 for 5 hours @ £22, so this seems to be my plan of action unless an Emirates lounge offer comes up.
I'll book a hotel room on the return as it's an 18hr stopover.
