I can do lounge access 11th February 2130 off the EK from GRU to DXB (cannot remember the flt noo, it arrives 2115 DXB and I am there until 0315

Hi, I'm travelling from Gla-Dxb on 6th Feb arriving Dubai 00.30 7th Feb and I'm looking for lounge access.

I've a 10hr stopover, so somewhere to relax would be appreciated.

Can anyone help?

Hi, have you asked if you can get a comp hotel room? I'm flying NCL - DBX same day, Landing just after you, and I also have a 10 hr stop over. According to the EK sitei f you have a a stopover of more than 8 hrs you are entitled to a hotel room (think it depends where you are flying onto though - I'm going to AKL, just economy , and I got one).

Worth a fone call :-)

Hi, I tried this before I bought the flight and I was told that only certain fare classes qualify.
Apparently my fare class doesn't qualify although it may be worth another phone call.

I can always buy lounge access elsewhere for 5 hrs although it would be better to use the airline lounge.

It's a bit of a pain as I have an 18 hour stopover on the return leg. That will definately be a hotel.

I still dont understand the different fare classes, I thought economy was economy!

I've sent them an email requesting a room on the outward and inward flights so we'll wait and see what the reply is. To be honest the person I spoke to on the phone wasn't that helpful. When I asked how can I tell what type of ticket it was when purchasing online the answer was you can't.

I might take you up on the room sharing but you would have to pay me if you snore. :D

For UK departures there is a list of destinations where the hotel room will be available. These are from NCL and GLA only and can be seen here:

There is no mention of any distinction between fare classes on that page.

On the global site there is a list of applicable fare classes.

I'm not sure if one takes precedence over the other but it would be worth stating your case if you're destination is on the first list.

If you have a Diners Club or Premium Mastercard they can also be used to gain lounge entry.

It appears the priority pass entitles you to the Marhaba Lounge at DXB. Is this the same as the EK J lounge that J, F and Gold card holders are entitled to?

The maps here indicate that Marhaba have a separate lounge area from either the J (and Gold in Y) or F lounge.

The first list doesn't have my final destination (Perth) on it. Does anyone know how to tell from my eticket what type economy ticket I have?

If you look at your eticket under Fare Calculations, the first letter after the first set of numbers should give you your outbound booking class. There's a similar pattern for the inbound.

However, I don't think it will matter as you have chosen the long stopover (EK424) over the shorter one (EK420). As it's your choice to take the stopover and there is a flight within the 8 hour limit you are not entitled to the room.
