Tier Miles Question

I'm about to book at return flight from Rome to Auckland, mixed class J & F class. The tier miles online come out as approximately 64,000.

I already have seats held through a travel agent and the projected tier miles on the skywards website is significantly less at 37,000. Both fares (online and via the agent)are the same price so assuming they are booking into the same fare class.

Can anyone please explain the difference? Are the forward projections in the skywards website not accurate? Ideally i would like to book through the agent who is going to discount the fare for me slightly, but don't want to end up with significantly less tier points.

Thanks

The website is probably returning Flex based fares rather the Saver fares. It seems odd that there is no price difference though ... also perhaps the website is allowing for your Skywards tier (Gold?) on one quote and not the other? Is a miles accelerator offer involved?

64,000 tier miles for mixed J & F doesn't sound right (too high, even for all F).

The Skywards miles calculator gives a maximum Tier miles of 52,500 for an all F itinerary. Are you mixing up Tier miles and Skywards miles?

They don't apply to Tier Miles, neither does Skywards status.

The website can have a lot of glitches as they seem to be unable to implement this new system. I'd suggest taking a screenshot where it shows the tier miles and then claiming these from EK. They probably won't give you everything, but something anyway.
