LH allows incoming F class passengers to use FCL on arrival even if they are connecting to the another flight in J or Y class and without status ^^

Good practise^
No room at the inn - it's with all these guests that EK elites take along with them to the
F lounges :(

Yes, but then LH puts you into NEK when you've booked some 5 hrs+ flights, has a mediocre C in 98% of it's planes, a run-down F in about 75%, and everywhere but in their hubs the "designated" F lounges are way below any EK lounge (to where you get access as Business pax only) - oh, and with EK you get a Chauffeur drive TO the airport when you're booked in C, even if upgraded, while with LH, you will get driven from the lounge to the plane.. if you're lucky..

Obviously on some features LH is better than EK, but then EK does earn 1 billion+ a year, while LH is running in the red.. I would say success is telling us that EK is doing it WELL better than Mr. Franz and his Germanwings.. errr Lufthansa company..

Sitting in it right now :) Smells of fresh leather. New furniture exactly like the J lounge in concourse A. Food selection is nice and has a nice view of the tarmac.

Is it possible to use the F Lounge on arrival and then go landside? I'm sure it's possible, but how easy it is? If it's too much of an hassle, we'll just go landside on arrival (Will be having a hotel nearby the airport) - if it's manageable, then we'll have dinner in the F lounge, followed by couple hours of sleep, then again breakfast in the F lounge.

Yes, it's possible, but it wasn't exactly a quick process for me. I recently arrived in Terminal 1 on Qatar Airways and walked quite a while to get to Terminal 3 for one of the First Class lounges. Then exited landside by walking the wrong way through security and temporarily outside the terminal.

It's probably much more manageable if you're arriving in Terminal 3 as well.

LHR Lounge(s)?

Ok I know it's been discussed on here, but I always skipped past it as I don't ever fly into LON and hadn't had any plans to. However short notice trip has come up into and out of LHR next week, so what is the lounge situation?

During booking it said BA Galleries lounge in T3, this seems wrong. What/where/how is the EK lounge and what other lounges might I have access to as EK Gold in Y, given the EK/Qantas partnership, I believe the rule is at LHR the lounge of the operating carrier only?

Which one of the First class lounges have more private sleeping areas?
I saw pix of the Concourse B F and Business Class Concourse B pictures online but not the Concourse A F lounge.

Thanks

Yes - you use the operating carrier lounge, regardless of status at LHR. You should be in the EK lounge if on EK metal at EK Gold.

Well as it turns out I moved my flight from LHR tomorrow to depart from BHX yesterday (upper deck Y very nice!) And built in a 4-day stopover then threw in a side-trip on 6E (Indigo) and am now in India. So that whole question was mute in the end. BHX lounge not overwhelming but great olives!

Compared to the other lounges in BHX it's like DXB FCL A against a crowded US domestic lounge :D

That was the most zooish security checkpoint I'd ever seen. Check-in lady told me to use the express lane, the express lane dragon asked me for an express lane card to which I pointed out the Gold status on my BP and she let me through, though makes me wonder if that's the right procedure?

Also first time ever I was forced to put liquids in a transparent plastic bag. I'm sure the transparent plastic makes a big difference to the x-ray machine...

There were op-ups, Gold on Flex I didn't get one. I gambled for one as I was going to use miles to upgrade, but lost the gamble when J was full with op-ups and I was stuck in 26D
