Great pics - thanks very much, a big improvement by the looks of it! What did you do with everyone else?

Thanks for the appreciation guys. Just thought I would contribute in a small way.

I got in early, so I was the first in the lounge. Wanted to take the pictures with less pple around, and also to have more time to the alcohol!!! Haha

Recently did a liver scan and me doctor says it's perfectly fine. So it's no holds barred!

Did everyone miss this or was it just me.....according to the website, EK now operates its own lounge in IST :)

Wouldn't have noticed - I always head to the cage on the roof for a smoke or three ...

The EK website seems to say F spa treatments @T3 are only from 9a to 9p. Is that indeed correct? How long does the massage take?

I think you get 15-mins complementary. Not sure of the opening hours...

No... I think they're open around the clock. I got one around midnight a few weeks back.

Thanks, Khalid, one of my questions answered right off!

LGW Business lounge seems well thought of...good reports. Worth eating lunch there before our 2.30pm flight?

Dubai BC lounge - seems very varied reports, we arrive 12.25 am, depart 03.50 am. Chances of getting a shower/spa treatment at that time? (It'll be 3 hours earlier to us).

On return, we have 5 hours at Jo'burg airport, 3pm ish by the time we get to the lounge from our SAA internal flight til 7 ish. What facilities are there? Showers? Meals? Googled it, but to no avail.

Thanks for any info.

I personally always eat in the lounge rather than onboard if I have time, I find the quality and selection better.

DXB J Lounge will be busy at that time but it doesn't mean you can't get your spa time. BTW, the complimentary treatments are only for the F lounge.

As for JNB, all EK lounges have hot meals and showers (if am not mistaken).

Thank you Khalid! Last time on Etihad all spa treatments were free in business...am surprised Emirates aren't the same, but it's not a deal breaker.

Does anyone know what the charges are?

The lounge in JNB opens at 4pm for the 7:15pm flight to DXB. It is possible to get in earlier, but there will be some cleaning and fixing the bar and meal selection from the earlier flight.
There are two showers each for Gents and Ladys, no problem to get one, if you are so early.
The meal selection at the JNB lounge is even better than in other EK lounges (which are all quite good).
You will have a nice time! Enjoy!

Might be interesting for you, if you want to have a longer treatment in the EK F lounge, you can "pool" from other people, e.g. if your partner doesn't want to go for the Spa you can take his boarding pass and extend your time. I did this several times.

Standard layout EK lounge with views of the tarmac, hot food buffet + bar, business centre, showers and large seating area. Yes there is a small storage room at the entrance
