Combining or gifting miles?

I read somewhere here that you can gift or combine miles. My mom has a bunch of miles that combine with mine will give me enough for a business class upgrade, but how do you gift the miles between accounts?

This is my first post, transitioning from lurker to contributor!!

Log into Skywards.com from the account you want to transfer FROM, go to the "Earn & Spend" menu on the menu bar, then "Purchase Miles."

At the bottom of this screen there will be a section to fill out to "Gift Miles." I've never proceeded past this point but that's how I assume you'd do it

Enjoy the upgrade to J, unfortunately I have nowhere near enough to upgrade SFO-DXB.

You cannot combine different accounts. You can purchase miles for yourself or to gift to someone else as described above, up to a maximum of 25,000 miles in a year.

Depends. $625 for 25k miles is a great bargain - a cash upgrade on DXB- Europe would cost significantly more. But a redemption to South Asia would cost significantly less.
