Online Check in?
I accidentally checked in for my Emirates flight online - a full 2 days before departure (accidentally thinking it was for tomorrow). And I got my confirmation boarding pass. Strange. It should not have allowed me to check in so early, correct?

I've repeatedly come across errors on their web site where the links within a list of one's itineraries point to the wrong individual itinerary.
For example, something like:
InfoAboutMyItinerary#1 (contains link to MyItinerary#3)
InfoAboutMyItinerary#2 (contains link to MyItinerary#1)
InfoAboutMyItinerary#3 (contains link to MyItinerary#4)
InfoAboutMyItinerary#4 (contains link to MyItinerary#2)
This error has caused me to cancel the incorrect reservation several times, and I have to call Reservations to undo the error. I finally gave up on the web site and now call Reservations whenever I want to cancel an itinerary. You would think that such a bad error would be caught and corrected, but apparently not.
I wonder if the same error was the cause of your accidental check-in for the wrong itinerary.
For example, something like:
InfoAboutMyItinerary#1 (contains link to MyItinerary#3)
InfoAboutMyItinerary#2 (contains link to MyItinerary#1)
InfoAboutMyItinerary#3 (contains link to MyItinerary#4)
InfoAboutMyItinerary#4 (contains link to MyItinerary#2)
