Video on 747

Hi
I just returned from israel with el al business class on a 747 were they have the smallest screen in the industry but they say they have portable video machines on the planes for the bus. class pass. for free and for a charge in economy. on the jfk-tlv leg i asked the FA during the flight if she can give me the portable video machine for my kids she said sorry we dont have any so i tought that i reminded myself too late and other people got it. on the return tlv-jfk as soon as i got onto the plane i asked the FA if i can have the video machine she said sorry they didnt put it onto the plane. i am just surprised on the service el al offers that they advertise that they give it out on the plane knowing that they have a bad entertainment system on thier 747's but when you ask for it sorry we dont have it

I think they may be available only on the planes that don't have personal screens.

If you are surprised, then I guess you are not a frequent flyer on El Al......

I thought that the vidibox has to be ordered in advance. The only time I got one without ordering it in advance was when my screen didn't work in the economy cabin on the Boeing 747-400 from JFK to TLV.

There should be few units on each selected flight (767/757, not sure on 747),
you should register in advance so you get yours and dont need to wait until
someone else finish to use it.

they sometimes have the Vidibox on the 747 flights.
you can check in advance on elal's website which flights will have the unit, and pre-order.
