the turnaround is really short...
Thomson also tried to do a one hour turnaround on the flights from London and Manchester, and never managed it. You cannot turn around a plane in an hour at TLV. It takes about 20-30 minutes just to empty the plane, and what about cleaning and reloading?

The fact that Thomson was late on practically every flight caused a lot of ill will especially from the people waiting in England to pick up the passengers, considering the flights were scheduled for 10 and 11 PM arrivals

When I flew with Thomson this April the schedule showed that they will have an hour and 15 minutes turn around. And the flight departed 10 later than expected.

Thanks! This is really I need to better English for me. I will readability it for me now. So Easyjet will inauguration new nonstop from LTN-TLV? What about secondary screening at the gate before to get onboard the aircraft? I think security need to more strict due to Israeli agreement. This is taking own responsibilities to check the passengers with passport/boarding pass before onboard the aircraft.

Sounds like a bit of a hassle to be honest, and so like I said, their prices are going to have to be extremely competitive in order for them to do well.

By the way, where did you get this info from?

When there were rumors that said that easyjet would fly 1 weekly flight to TLV, Calcalist said that these flights will be operated out of T1.

There is a major difference between the 737 (Thompson) and A320 (Easyjet) in terms of clearing and loading luggage. On the A320 it should take 5 minutes to unload and another 5 to load.

The problem with TLV is security check every plane has to go though once cleared of pax and luggage and before loading. It is still possible within 50 minutes.

Ok, so nothing confirmed then.

I guess if they pay lower fees to use T1 that is likely.

Easyjet's fleet consists of mainly A319 (127) and only 13 A320, although the turn-around argument still applies.

But who says they won't fly one of their 22 737 a/c to Israel?

Seems it will be an A320 from this article (Hebrew)
http://www.ynet.co.il/articles/0,7340,L-3744942,00.html

I had a quick look at prices on the easyjet website and am tempted by the TLV-LTN prices starting at 30/40 - now that is cheap. Esp as I dont usually take luggage.

Ynet will be the last source to rely on for the type of plane used on the route.

The plane would probably be A320 or A321 because those are the ones with IFE installed on board.

I agree, the prices are astonishing.
Even some Dec/Jan flights are ~140.
Good luck to U2. If yhey can do the turanaround, I think that they will be doing well.
Just wondering, why is there no Friday flight?
